My safaris have come to represent the pinnacle of African experiences for many reasons. One is my certainty in the importance of a two-way commitment. Once you commit to travelling with me, I in turn commit to designing and delivering an extraordinary safari that will exceed your every expectation. I take on the role of a trusted advisor – your address book contact for all your travel planning, so to say.

My focus is very much driven by the areas I recommend and what travelling to this area affords in the way of experiences. I have steered away from overwhelming lists of every property, destination and experience based on algorithms. Instead my safaris are human.

I understand you need to trust me before doing business with me, and I am happy to connect and answer your initial questions. Then, when the time comes to hone your specific safari concept, I request a design and research deposit of US$500 that will be applied towards your booking. This allows me to put your preferred choice of properties on hold, securing the best available rates and offers. If for any reason you do not confirm and book your reservations with me within 3 months of your initial request, this fee is not refunded. Consider it payment for the work and research I’ve done on your behalf.

Proper safari planning takes quality time and serious research. My loyal clients deserve my full focus, time and expertise. I want to devote my time to clients who are serious about travel – those who understand and appreciate the level of commitment, professionalism and expertise I can offer. This is how I ensure that when you book with me, you receive the excellent service, care and respect you deserve.

Should you book a subsequent trip with me there will be no booking fee. From your very first adventure with me you will become part of my travel circle, with access to unpublished locations, research scholars and sometimes even press trips.

What I offer, you cannot Google.

A private guide is in essence a naturalist with many years of experience and an extensive knowledge of, and passion for, the areas in which they work. These guides are able to accompany you or your party throughout all or part of your safari in their particular country or countries of operation and will turn the trip into the experience of a lifetime.

Having an intimate knowledge of fauna, flora, culture, history and the area’s in which they operate, they are able to expose the relevant highlights, adding continuity and depth throughout your journey, and effectively tailor making your experience around any special interests you may have.  Many travellers return year after year to be guided by a particular guide with whom they have built up a relationship on previous trips.

The selection of truly brilliant guide is the most essential factor in planning a successful trip. Today the experience and expertise of your guide is often overlooked in a race to promote 5 star ratings or fill back-to-back itineraries. I firmly believe your guide is the single most important element in a safe and successful Safari, the true value in the equation - the difference between a run of the mill experience and a life changing one!

One of the greatest benefits to a private guide is the fact that you have somebody with you from the moment you arrive in Africa. This means that there is always a clued up individual to help with your travel, border crossings, dealings with locals and in essence giving clarity to what the rest of the itinerary is about.

The quality of your guide, quite simply, makes or breaks your safari.
